Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work the same way. They allow the site to remember your preferences and session state across page loads. Team Quiz sets the cookies needed to run the service. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you consent to them.

2. Cookies We Use

Necessary

These are required for the service to work and are always active:

better-auth.session_tokenTeam QuizKeeps you logged in between page loadsSession / 30 days
better-auth.csrf_tokenTeam QuizProtects against cross-site request forgerySession

tq-consent-v2 (local storage)Team QuizRemembers your cookie choicesUntil deleted
__ph_opt_in_out_* (local storage)PostHogRemembers whether you accepted or rejected analyticsUntil deleted

These help us understand how Team Quiz is used so we can improve it:

NameProviderPurposeDuration
ph_*_posthogPostHog (EU)Distinguishes visitors and sessions, enables session replay1 year
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes visitors2 years
_ga_*Google AnalyticsKeeps session state2 years

If you decline analytics, PostHog still counts visits without setting any cookies or storing anything on your device. Visitors are counted using a hash that PostHog computes on its servers and that cannot be traced back to you. Session replay is not used in that case.

These measure how our advertising performs:

Google and Meta may process this data in the United States. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Managing Cookies

When you first visit Team Quiz, you can accept or reject analytics and marketing cookies, or choose per category. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer or, when signed in, in your account menu. Withdrawing consent stops further tracking. Cookies that were already set remain until they expire or you delete them in your browser.

Necessary cookies cannot be switched off while using Team Quiz. You can delete them through your browser's privacy settings, which will log you out of the service. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely; doing so will prevent you from signing in.

4. Third-Party Services

Team Quiz is hosted on Google Cloud Platform. Google may set its own infrastructure-level cookies as part of load balancing or DDoS protection. These are strictly technical and outside our control. For details on the third parties above, refer to the privacy policies of PostHog, Google and Meta.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the technology underlying the service. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. If we add new categories of cookies, we will ask for your consent again.
